The MAC Submits Development Application at Werris Creek

The MAC Services Group Pty Ltd (The MAC), a leading mining accommodation provider has submitted a Development Application for a new 1,500 room accommodation village in Werris Creek NSW. The facility will service the surrounding coal mines within the Gunnedah Basin.
The Development Application follows community feedback forums that were held at the beginning of June at the Werris Creek Railway Institute. The forums offered members of the community the opportunity to learn more about The MAC, the proposed village as well as being given the opportunity to voice any concerns and support for the planned development.
The MAC Managing Director and CEO Ron Green said “We look forward to the development of our new village at Werris Creek. Being so close to a township, the development will open up many opportunities to the local community.”
“We will be working closely with the Council to ensure the village is fully integrated within the community. We anticipate providing an ongoing boost to the local economy through job creation and the sourcing of local goods and services for the development and ongoing of the village.”
If approved, up to 100 construction jobs are expected to be created through The MAC subcontracting out works to local suppliers. Once operational up to 60 new fulltime positions will be available for the ongoing management of the village.
The Werris Creek village will comprise architect-designed rooms that reflect quality, privacy and comfort within harmonious landscaped surroundings. Other village features include a central facilities building with kitchen and dining room, convenience store, fitness centre and caravan park. The inclusion of the caravan park is the result of a desire from local community who have been requesting such a facility for many years.
