The MAC to build Olympic Dam housing

BHP Billiton Ltd, the world's largest mining company, has selected The MAC Services Group Ltd as the preferred tenderer for a new accommodation village for its Olympic Dam operation in South Australia.
The development will initially consist of 500 rooms as well as associated dining, recreation and administration facilities, with construction expected to start in the second half of fiscal year 2009.
The MAC said the development, which is subject to a number of approvals and the execution of binding documentation, could be funded out of existing debt facilities and ongoing cash flows.
The village will be constructed at Roxby Downs to service the Olympic Dam mine.
