The MAC Services Group (The MAC), a provider of accommodation services to the mining, construction and resources industries, celebrated another milestone last week when they officially opened their flagship accommodation village at Coppabella.
The official opening cocktail event, held on Wednesday was hosted by The MAC’s founder and chairman Kevin Maloney, CEO and managing director Mark Maloney with guest, Member for Mackay Tim Mulherin.
Touted as the “new generation” of remote area accommodation The MAC Coppabella Village is 150 kilometres west of Mackay and provides the region’s surrounding coal mines with modern accommodation.
The MAC provides guests with resort-style services and facilities.
Mark Maloney said The MAC Coppabella Accommodation Village’s services and facilities were a step ahead of the rest when it came to quality and style.
“Our Coppabella Village is our largest facility in Australia with over 1600 accommodation rooms with quality resort-style services and facilities that add to our guests’ living experience while working away from home,” Mr Maloney said.
"Our innovative approach provides not just a place to sleep but a hospitality service that is breaking the mould of what is typically known as ‘fly-in, fly-out’ accommodation.
“At our Coppabella Village guests can enjoy facilities including a multi-function court for playing tennis, basketball and volleyball, a lap and recreational pool, running track, in-house fully equipped gymnasium, access to ‘The Hub’ bar and restaurant, an on-site convenience store and dining facilities.
“These state-of-the-art facilities are being rolled out to all our villages across Australia, setting the new industry benchmark for the future of remote area accommodation.
“The Coppabella opening marks a very special and exciting time for us to showcase what a MAC Village is and what the industry has to look forward to from us in the future,” he said.
All MAC Villages including the Coppabella facility provide ensuited cabins where guests have the comfort of an air-conditioned private bedroom with a king-single bed, desk, wireless internet facilities, fridge and television with a selection of in-house movies.
