ACCOMMODATION specialist MAC Services Group has moved into Western Australia.
The Queensland-based company has bought the Kambalda Caravan Park, with a total freehold landholding of 11.25 hectares. About two thirds of that land is undeveloped.
This is the company's first foray out of Queensland.
The MAC has applied to the Shire of Coolgardie to build more than 200 en-suite rooms, while operating the park's 50 fully-serviced caravan sites.
The acquisition and implementation of the first stage is expected to cost about $10 million
The first stage is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2008.
The MAC debuted on the Australian Securities Exchange in April with an opening share price of $2. Its shares are trading at around $2.40.
The company specialises in providing mine site accommodation services ranging from buying the land through to building, managing and maintaining the accommodation and providing catering services.
The MAC executive chairman Kevin Maloney said the company was the single largest accommodation provider in the Central Bowen Basin.
