The MAC Services Group Limited (The MAC), an Australian owned public company was established in 1988 to supply accommodation services to the coal mining, resources, construction and tourism industries.

During this period of growth the company has expanded its services to meet industry requirements in quality, flexibility and operations, making it one of Australia’s leading accommodation centre developers and operators.

The MAC has in excess of 3300 permanent rooms under management and continues to add to this number at current facilities.

The MAC’s clients include some of Australia’s largest corporations who work closely with the company’s senior management and planners to ensure the accommodation facilities and operations continue to meet the needs of our clients and guests.

The MAC offers a unique service in the Australian mining industry as it owns and operates facilities – that is The MAC functions more like a hotel/motel servicing mining clients. There are numerous companies that will project manage the construction of a new camp or village on behalf of a client, and again many that will service that facility after it is constructed.

However, many mining companies wish to distance themselves from the provision of accommodation and focus on their core business. The MAC is prepared to invest capital, construct facilities and manage them independently, taking the accommodation "headache" away from mining clients.

Most facility management organisations will not invest capital in facilities under management. However, The MAC takes a different view of its business, preferring to support its mining clients who are generally involved in long term projects. The MAC invests in areas traditionally avoided, such as car parking, footpaths, awnings, common barbeque areas, reticulation and landscaping. The MAC Accommodation currently owns and operates 4 facilities in Central Queensland as follows;

Moranbah – currently 1060 rooms – 200 room expansion planned
Dysart – currently 744 rooms – 200 room expansion planned
Nebo – currently 650 rooms
Coppabella – currently 950 permanent rooms – 1550 room expansion planned in the next 18 months.
