The MAC Villages

The newly constructed rooms at The MAC Villages are modern, en-suited and in varying sizes (15.5 sq. m, 24 sq. m. and 48 sq. m.) and compare favourably to the industry norm of 11 sq. m. The minimum industry standard is a single room with private shower and toilet facilities. Such a model, as constructed and installed at The MAC Villages is outlined below. Our rooms are considered a good standard size for commute accommodation.

There are three options available for utilisation:

1. Rooms are reserved for use by a single employee, with the room remaining unoccupied on the employee’s non-rostered shifts.
2. Motelling of rooms, where employees are allocated rooms from a contracted pool for each period that they are working. They are allocated different rooms each time they stay and need to take their belongings with them on departure.
3. Sharing of rooms between two employees. A double lockable cupboard can be installed so that belongings can be stored. On changeover days where an employee needs to sleep after night shift, the employee is allocated another room from the pool for that period.

If a room is not being used on a particular day, the room can be put back into the ‘pool’ for use by others. The MAC will work with clients to maximise room utilisation including cleaning rooms as required on handover to allow for ‘motelling’.
