Manufacturing

Capability

The MAC's primary manufacturing facility is located in Edinburgh Parks, Adelaide, 10 minutes from Highway A1. This impressive state-of-the-art facility was officially opened by the Mayor in May 2008 and includes an undercover air-conditioned space of 10,568m2. With a capacity to produce 330 of The MAC's transportable buildings at any one time and a storage capability to house 120 finished buildings, the facility more than caters for The MAC's manufacturing needs.

The MAC has a second manufacturing facility in Nebo, Queensland to supplement capacity when needed.

What we offer

The MAC is proud to offer modular prefabricated accommodation units which typify quality, strength, comfort, ease of transportability and modern design. Our accommodation units possess all of the comforts and familiarity that a traditionally built motel would offer. Our Design and Construction teams take great care and pride in creating a module which stands apart from others. We pay careful attention to the minor details, which result in a product that exudes fine design and quality.

Designed to feel like home

Unlike many other transportable buildings, the interior of our modules have been designed to look like traditionally-built, permanent structures, enabling guests to relax in the comfort of a room finished to a high-quality standard.

Meeting the Standards

Designed by a team of architects and certified by structural engineers, each unit complies with both the Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards. The MAC buildings are built to last and are designed to withstand the most temperamental and harsh weather conditions.

The building’s structural design and tie-down system can vary depending on the building’s location. The MAC’s buildings can reach the ultimate wind rating of “Region D Tropical Cyclones” as per AS 1170.2, however, the current location of all MAC buildings only requires “Region A Normal” structural and tie-down design.

The MAC uses quality glavanised steel floor, wall and roof framing. Structual steel members are also used in the design for ultimate stability. Concrete pier footings are used as the foundations to our buildings. The MAC believes this provides much better support when compared to dry block footings that can be used in the industry.

Each of the MAC’s motel rooms are classed as sole occupancy units, and require a minimum of one hour fire rating between each unit as per the BCA Fire Resistance Construction Standards. Our buildings comply with this standard, providing our clients with the ultimate protection in the event of a fire.

Flexibility with finishes

Each customer can choose from a selection of finishes – all tastes are different, therefore the Design team has come up with a range of finishes, textures and colours from Colorbond and Dulux to suit any preference. Alternatively we can tailor the exterior of the modules to suit our client’s personal taste.

Environmental sustainability

The MAC has energy-efficiency assessments carried out on its buildings. All buildings are required to have a minimum of 3.5 star rating. This rating is achieved using a special selection of building materials and various construction techniques.

Air conditioner key switches are installed as a standard item in the units to ensure that the air conditioners are not operating unnecessarily while occupants are outside the rooms, and 3-star shower heads and basin mixers are used to reduce water consumption in the rooms.

Contract and guarantees

The MAC is prepared to enter into an A.S 4911 contract which includes a 12-month defects liability period. Additionally we provide a 7-year warranty on exterior cladding and framing.
